Position Description
Position Title: Network Administrator
Department: IT
Reports To: Director of Information Technology


Position Summary:
Direct and coordinate local area network activities, provide technical leadership for user support and assist in planning/implementing corporate technology direction.


Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Establish and maintain network users, user environment, directories and security
  2. Monitor and administer the network by performing, as required, updates to the operating system, loading and updating software applications, managing memory usage and maintaining a backup of all files, security, and rights
  3. Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan layout for purchase/installation or modification of computers, peripheral equipment and major business software applications
  4. Respond to the needs and questions of network users concerning their access to resources on the network and operation of various software programs
  5. Remain abreast of changes in user and system software and hardware requirements
  6. Facilitate or conduct formal/informal training sessions
  7. Special projects as assigned
  8. Ability to provide a high level of customer service, while maintaining good organizational and communications skills
  9. Incorporates business rules into system functionality
  10. Maintains and increases professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops and seminars


Hiring Qualifications:

  • A.A. degree or equivalent demonstrated technical competence and experience required
  • Bachelors degree in MIS with MCSE certification preferred
  • Five years related experience in network administration
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Must posses the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Regularly sitting and viewing a computer screen
  • Occasional periods of lifting, standing, bending, crouching, overhead reaching and stooping
