Sales Engineer - Key Account Mgr - Medical

Position Description
Position Title: Sales Engineer / Key Account Manager - Medical
Department: Hudson MPC
Reports To: General Manager

Position Summary:
Carries out a responsive and proactive sales effort to gain profitable customer orders and help Preco exceed customer’s expectations.  Concentrate on Medical business opportunities and developing new Medical market segments.  Responsible for assigned and developed Key accounts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assists customers in determining suitability of applications over the phone and in person
  • Provides estimates/quotations from customer supplied sketches, drawings, sample parts, or verbal descriptions (using input from programming, production, quality and engineering staff to gain information and support)
  • Assists in developing pricing structure for specific jobs
  • Actively tracks open quotes and prospects
  • Communicates available delivery and closes orders per business unit goals (gross margin, etc.)
  • Effectively defines and communicates requirements for engineering and production success
  • Leads project teams (writing memos, conducting meetings, scheduling activities, motivating people, etc.)
  • Expedites orders and maintains customer contact, assisting with problems or changes in product, scheduling, etc.
  • Regularly analyzes services provided for customers to develop new ways to better satisfy customer needs (new/different equipment, alternative work methods, improved quality/service, etc.)
  • Develops appropriate intimacy with key customer accounts
  • Maintains/organizes customer files and marketing/lead management software
  • Monitors personal performance to departmental goals
  • Assists in the design of advertising (mailings, literature, etc.)
  • Contacts potential and inactive customers to solicit new orders and gain market information
  • Organizes sales and process development demonstrations
  • Works at trade shows and visits customers at their facilities
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Hiring Qualifications:

  • Two year technical degree preferably laser or machine tool technology, four year engineering degree preferred
  • Minimum two years sales/industrial experience
  • Ability to read blueprints, specifications and purchase agreements/orders
  • Ability to read and execute NDA’a , Manufacturing Agreements and customer specific specifications
  • Good interpersonal, written communication and computer skills
  • Good understanding of laser processing methods, CNC programming, dimensional tolerancing
  • Up to 50% travel

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting requirements, physical environment, repetitive activities, computer and significant meeting time
