Cutting: Laser and Die
Laser specialty cutting of both metals and non-metals can produce fine tolerances in intricate patterns with precise detail without burrs, debris or strands in both metal and non-metallic materials. Some of the advantages of laser cutting include non-contact processing with superior edge quality, faster prototyping, and up to 5-axis machining.
Precision die cutting of non-metals with either a flat bed die press or rotary die press is great for increasing volumes and can provide quality parts at reduced costs. Materials can be laminated, die cut, and laser cut multiple times to meet demanding requirements of multi-laminate materials. Raw stock can be sheet or roll feed. More on Laser Cutting
Laser Welding
The laser welding process operates at very high speeds with low heat generation and minimal heat affected zone. Lasers are excellent tools for welding thin materials, performing hermetic welds, or operating in close proximity to heat-sensitive components. Preco has a wide variety of lasers from 7W-12,000 Watts in a number of formats to match the application including CO2, Nd:YAG, Fiber, and UV. More on Laser Welding
Supporting Facilities and Equipment
Preco's commitment to making quality parts extends beyond the machine center. We have a Class 100,000 (ISO Class8) clean room for those products requiring extra protection. Our MicroVu measuring centers provide immediate feedback on the part geometry and overall process capability. Welded parts are micro-sectioned to verify weld penetration and helium leak testers confirm hermetic seals.
