Preco has extensive experience in laser welding ranging from high power thick section welding to micro joining of foils and small wires. We also have experience in processes such as hybrid welding, induction-assisted laser welding, and cold wire feed welding.

Laser heat treating is a surface modification process designed to change the microstructure of metals through controlled heating and cooling. Laser heat treating can target localized areas without affecting the entire work piece. Another surface modification process is laser cladding which is ideally suited for creating an entirely new surface as well as repairing damaged or worn surfaces (remanufacturing).

Metals Systems
SL Series Welding, Heat Treating, Cutting, Drilling This versatile machine offers single and multiple head sheet metal cutting operations along with laser welding, heat treating, and cladding capabilities. It features a moving XY table and worksupport areas up to 60" x 120". Common applications include the welding of formed or stamped sheet metal, machined metal components, and power generation turbines.		ST Series Welding, Heat Treating, Cladding, Cutting, Drilling The Preco ST Series Laser Workstations perform multi-axis laser welding, drilling and cutting in a class I enclosure. These time and field proven machines are designed around fixed beam laser technology and Preco XY motion and control technology.
Robotic Cell Welding, Heat Treating, Cladding, Cutting, Drilling The system is built with a singular construction and includes all electrical, pneumatic, and exhaust items conveniently located in the unit. The steel welded frame and enclosure has numerous windows for viewing, large access doors on each side, many options for part load and unload, and multiple fork lift access points built in for easy shipment and in-plant moves.		SL5505 Cutting, Drilling The Preco SL5505 system is a three axis flying optic system designed for precessing flat sheet or coil-fed product. In the flat sheet configuration the product is cut on a sliding drawer worksupport allowing for easy load and unload.
Cladding System Cladding Preco manufactures systems for the deposition of powder metal or wire onto a base metal (part) to metallurgical bond the dissimilar materials. We offer both Cartesian platforms or robotic based systems. Laser cladding increases the life span for components by improving corrosion and wear properties.		MedPro Micro Processing Medical devices are becoming smaller and more complex. Lasers are both a necessity and a valuable asset in the fabrication of medical devices. The MedPro laser system provides high speed, tight tolerance laser processing for flat sheet or rotary applications.
